Vampire Facial Paddington

Vampire Facial is a treatment used to improve the quality of the skin by utilising your own blood cells to stimulate the production of collagen. The treatment can improve fine lines and wrinkles, loose and sagging skin, improve dark circles and crepey skin, improve stretch marks, reduce the appearance of pores and give a refreshed and glowing complexion.

How is the treatment performed?

The patient’s blood is taken and the tube of blood is then spun in the centrifuge machine. This separates the Red blood cells from the plasma. The plasma contains the very valuable platelets. The platelets are then injected into the area where skin improvement is needed. This stimulates a whole multitude of growth factors, which in turn stimulate the production of collagen.

Who is suitable for the treatment?

Anyone who wants to improve the overall quality, texture and elasticity of the skin. The candidate must be in a good state of health with no previous history of cancer, clotting or blood cell disorders. As the treatment is completely natural and is using the patient’s own autologous blood, it is perfect for those not wanting to use neuro-toxins or dermal fillers or for people with allergies. It can also make a great combination treatment with other dermal fillers. It should be noted that smoking can prevent the treatment from working as well as it should as the platelets need to be in good health.

How many treatments are required?

We recommend 3 treatments per area spaced approximately 1 month apart. After this a top-up is usually recommended every 6-12 months.

Which areas can be treated?

The most common areas to treat are around the eyes. This area is often difficult to treat as the skin is very thin. The Vampire Facial can help to reduce dark circles and help thicken crepey thin skin in this area. It will help reduce fine lines, wrinkles and the overall quality of the skin.

The neck, décolletage, cheeks, jawline and hands are also common areas. These are often badly sun damaged. The treatment can help tighten the skin and reverse the signs of ageing in these areas.

Other areas of the body may be treated such as post pregnancy bellies or stretch marks.

Is there any downtime?

There can often be a considerable amount of swelling especially in the eye area however this usually subsides after a day or two. As with any injection there is a risk of bruising so any important engagements should be scheduled before the treatment or at least 2 weeks after the treatment. Most people can return to work the next day with no problems.

What side effects can I expect?

Redness, mild-moderate pain at the injection site, swelling, bruising, the area may feel hot like a bad sunburn for 24hrs. It is important not to take any anti-histamines on the day of treatment as this could prevent the treatment from working.
